PAINTINGS

I paint in acrylics on canvas and board, using texture and colour, sometimes incorporating collage to slowly build up layers within my work. This gives my paintings a history and depth. I find this creative process absorbing, escapist and immersive. My work as a monotype printmaker needs a lot more planning, and the outcome can be unexpected and unpredictable, which I love.

My Coach Pasture Pond series was made during the enforced solitude of 2021. Without my daily routine of walking in the woods, and the inspiration and calm that brought, I would have struggled.
